Commensalism is a form of biological interaction in which one species benefits from the other without harming it.Tillandsias, the species I studied, are a clear example of commensalism, as they are plants that grow on trees or rocks, but never parasitise them. They only benefit from the shade and moisture provided by the trees, a beautiful example of coexistence.
This research project focused on creating a breathing fabric by weaving Tillandsia Usneoides, also known as air moss, to create a garment that is permanently alive and can even flourish.
